EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

Engr. Emmanuel W.K. Donkor, F.IET
Engr. Emmanuel Wilberforce K. Donkor, graduated from Accra Polytechnic with the Mechanical Technician’s Certificate Parts I, II and III, and was later awarded the Full Technological Certificate by City and Guilds of London Institute. He subsequently trained as a Marine Engineer and had his 2nd and 1st Class Certificates from the then Regional Maritime University (now Ghana Maritime University), Ghana. He also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Production Engineering Technology from the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana. He has participated in the Certified Trainer of Trainees Course for Professional Engineers organized by IET, Ghana.

For his working career, Engr. EWK Donkor has worked with Mankoadze Fisheries Company, where he rose to the rank of Marine Chief Engineer, a position he held on various Sea-going vessels for fifteen years. He then joined P.Z Cussons Company in 2000 as its Plant Engineer. He was promoted in 2005 to the position of Site Maintenance Manager (Deputy Chief Engineer). He resigned from P.Z. Cussons in 2008 and Clear Skies Company as their Marine Superintendent Engineer.

Engr. Donkor is a foundation member of IET and a Fellow of the institution. He has previously served as the Secretary for the Southern Sector as well as institutional Committees among others. In 2013, following the restructuring of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana Engr. Donkor was engaged as the first Executive Secretary. He has been working in that capacity to date.

Engr. Donkor has undertaken various courses and seminars in corporate management, the Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663) as well as the Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651). In the preparation of the Engineering Council Act, 2011 (Act 819), Engr. Donkor was an active member of professionals that assisted in the drafting of the Bill.

As part of his duties as the Executive Secretary, he has since its establishment, played and continues to actively engage the Engineering Council in the roll out of its mandate, the latest of which is the development of the draft Engineering Regulations that is currently ongoing.

Engr. Donkor is a Christian who actively serves in various roles in the Tema Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI), Our Lady of Mercy Catholic (OLAM) Parish in Tema among others.
